We Were "Stung" Today
Submitted By smclachlan on Sunday, December 4, 2011
It was an exciting game to watch and everyone on the bench put forth a great effort.

Our Seaforth Storm were loud during their cheer and that enthusiasm carried over when they hit the ice.  It seemed like we were in the offensive end for the majority of the first period, skating around the net looking for the great shots.  The girls were communicating well on the ice, using drop passes to the "D" and then having the forward move out to let either Laynee, Corrinn or Emily move in for the shot.
Mitchell were hard on the stick checks and seemed to always have two of their players wherever the ring was.  They were able to bury two goals in the first period, despite great goaltending by Brooke.  With 30 seconds left in the first, Meghan passed to Laynee and we were able to come within one going into the break.
The second period was fast and lots of movement up and down the ice.  Our forward line of Natalie, Courtney and Emma was busy and worked hard looking for a goal.  With 5 minutes left in the second the game intensified.  Meghan scored to tie the game and the fans were on the edge of their seats.  Mitchell thought they better answer and were able to get two goals in 30 seconds, but our team kept their focus.  With a minute twenty nine left, Natalie passed to Meghan and a goal was scored.  Coaches put a risky strategy into effect and Brooke headed to the bench.  We had 6 players on and they were looking to tie it up.  the goalie stayed strong and was able to blast away everything that we threw at her.
Thanks for the great entertainment on a rainy Sunday afternoon!  Good work Storm!
