2 Big Wins!

There is no stopping this petite team.

Drove a little south on Tuesday night for a game in Hensall against the Exeter Avalanche.  To keep everyone on their toes, Kurt switched up the lines and the girls were primed.  After a loud pregame cheer, they hit the ice.
Our players seemed to be all around their net and shot after shot after shot was taken, but the Exeter goalie was on the ball and seemed to have our number.  Emily made a pass to Natalie late in the first and we were on the board.
Brooke was strong between the pipes for us (as she always is) and it wasn't until just into the second that Exeter was able to get one by her.  16 seconds later, Courtney passed to Corrinn and she drove it home.  Maddie, Emma, Meghan and Laura were strong on the push.  They moved the ring up nicely, taking shots, yet not quite beating the goalie.  Natalie came out with two more goals in the second.  Emily, Laynee and Corrinn were making great passes up the ice and keeping the ring away from Brooke.
Nice game to watch, and great to see how the team can play well together no matter what the lines are.
Saturday we met at the Seaforth arena for a battle with Mitchell.  Everyone seemed happy despite the cold cold weather.  The game started nicely with Laura, Meghan and Mattie connecting on their passes and moving the ring quickly.  Courtney, Emma and Alaina (thanks Alaina!) were passing nicely
between their line and it looked like we were in for a great afternoon.  Corrinn, Emily and Natalie showed that they were in it to win it getting the ring out of our end any which way they could.  Brooke was quick to pounce and make nice tosses to our players.  The passes are what stood out in this game and the coaching staff was thrilled.  It was also nice to see the communication between players as forwards would drop back and the D would drive into the Mitchell zone.   Great game girls, rest up for London tomorrow!
