A Close Game had Fans on the Edge of their Seats!
Submitted By smclachlan on Sunday, January 8, 2012
With our classification being adjusted for the second half of the season, the players are in for a challenge, the fans are in for excitement and the bench staff will have their nerves tested.

We headed into this game, not having laced up our skates since December 19th.  The girls were excited to see each other and we were reminded that fun is the name of the game.
Hoping that Emily feels better soon, we headed on to the ice.  Laynee, Corrinn and Natalie were on the defence today and kept their triangle strong to keep the Stingers away from our net.  Brooke must have dreamed about blocking rings during the holidays, because she was on her game.  Courtney and Emma welcomed Allison on their line, and were able to move the ring up nicely.  Meghan, Laura and Mattie were passing well and had many chances on net.
Scoring opened early in the first with Laura collecting a goal assisted by Natalie.  Laynee fired our next one in and Mattie assisted by Meghan were on the sheet with the third goal.
Mitchell kept things close and with only 3:47 left in the game were able to sneak one in and be up by a goal.  Our Storm kept the pressure on right until the end, working hard to try and tie it up.
We will see everyone Tuesday at 6 in Mitchell for a rematch!

A reminder as well about the Kitchener tournament - hotel information has been emailed and I will collect the entry from players, or their parents, in Mitchell - thanks!
