It's a 30 Minute Game and All 30 of them Count.
Submitted By smclachlan on Friday, February 3, 2012
Our Seaforth Storm came to the arena keen to play, and with the memory of a loss to Chatham with 1.5 seconds left in the second still vivid in our heads.

The game started out strong and with the teams evenly matched.  The first goal for the Thunder came quickly, very quickly in the first.  Not to let that bring us down, we came back and tied it up on a goal from Laura assisted by Natalie and Mattie. The coaches could see that both teams were looking for the win.  Brooke was busy in the first period and really was standing on her head, stopping rings that we were not sure how she could stop.  Chatham put another one in on us, but Meghan was quick to fire back, and found the five hole to tie us up again.  In the spirit of a back and forth game, Chatham scored again, so Natalie decided to put it on the net, assisted by Courtney and it again was a tie game.  Emma was making nice passes up to the forwards and it was all looking very good.
Our skaters were kept busy, and the game was very fast and up and down the ice, up and down the ice, up and down the ice.  We knew that the team would be tired at the end of this one.
It was nice to have Emily back in the line up, and with Laynee and Corrinn, the D was busy, busy, busy.
If we had ended at the end of the first 15 minutes of play, we would have come away at a draw, but the game has 15 minutes more and that was when the Storm seemed to run out of steam.  Chatham was able to score a few more and that was that.  We are looking forward to our game in St. Marys, and will be doing some off ice conditioning to put us in prime shape for the Golden Ring tourney.
Sorry for the delay in the story Meghan, knew I couldn't show up tomorrow without having this posted!
