U14 Win Waterloo Tournament
Submitted By Michele Hodgert on Sunday, January 12, 2020
After finishing round robin play in first place, the U14's hit the Albert McCormick ice at 1:00 pm Sunday against host team, Waterloo.

The locals got off to a slow start and found themselves down 2-0 to the hard stick checking Waterloo team at the half. Exeter/Seaforth Goaltender Jaden Diertich held the team in the game making some great saves. Emily Smale started the come back with 4:50 to go. Two minutes later Kiera Coolman netted the equalizer on a pass from Sydney Dolmage. Both teams pressed hard to break the tie and Waterloo was penalized for taking Smale down in the offensive end. The fully served penalty set up a free pass in Waterloo's end & Smale eyed the five hole for the go ahead goal with 1:10 remaining on the clock.
With the Waterloo goaltender out of the net, and four in the zone, the defense worked hard for possession, Dolmage gained the ring and sent a rocket down the ice to secure the win with 8 seconds to go. Congratulations!
